Infection Control Protocols

Infection control

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice . Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies recommendations.

Steps for infection control include:

• Frequent use of hand sanitizer and hand soap

• Gloves , face masks, eyewear, gowns

• Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces

• Sterilization of all equipment before every use

• Use of disposable materials whenever possible

Sterilization

We sterilize all reusable instruments / equipment with a machine called autoclave. An autoclave kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat, and pressure. Autoclave itself is tested on weekly basis for its quality assurance.

Water quality-

We use only Artesian Drinking water or spring water for our dental operatory units which is treated and tested periodically.

Introduction of Isolite- This technology have been introduced to minimize the number of aerosols that are expelled – thus keeping patients and entire dental team safer.

The Isolite Mouthpiece is a soft and flexible barrier that will:

- Protect the airway

- Retract the tongue

- Continuously remove saliva
